Daily Departure

Depart for Lake Manyara National Park via the scenic towns of Makuyuni and Mto wa Mbu. This picturesque journey offers a glimpse into local Tanzanian life and the beautiful landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, enjoy an exciting game drive in Lake Manyara National Park with a picnic lunch served inside the park. Famous for its lush groundwater forests, diverse ecosystems, and abundant wildlife, the park is especially renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions and impressive birdlife, including flamingos, pelicans, and storks along the lake shores.

    Day 1: Arrive Arusha

    Welcome to Tanzania!

    You will be met & transfer from Kilimanjaro Airport to your lodge in Arusha for dinner and overnight.

    Day 2: Arusha - Lake Manyara National Park

    Depart for Lake Manyara, driving via Makuyuni and Mto wa Mbu village. Apart from its abundant bird life,

    Lake Manyara National Park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions.

    Spend the game viewing in the park with picnic lunch.

    Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park - Serengeti National Park

    Depart for the Serengeti National Park for game drive with picnic lunch. This park is famed for its annual

    migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000

    Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest's trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the

    Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, elephant and

    giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant's gazelle. Golden-maned

    lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the

    Seronera River, while a high density of cheetahs prowl the southeastern plains.

    There is more to Serengeti than large mammals. There are over 500 species of birds, and your guide will

    also introduce you to the small five'.

    Enroute to Serengeti, you will drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Ndutu Plains.


    Optional (at an extra cost):- Olduvai Gorge visit:

    Stop enroute at Olduvai Gorge, site of archeological findings where traces of pre-historic man dating back

    to 3.5 million years ago have been discovered. Visit the on-site museum and witness a panoramic view of

    the historical excavation site.

    Day 4: Serengeti National Park

    Optional (at an extra cost):- Hot air balloon safari in Serengeti:

    This morning, you will be amongst the privileged few who will float majestically over the endless Serengeti

    plains, in a hot-air balloon. An early morning wake-up call will precede the transfer to the launch site, where

    the balloon will commence flight at dawn. At the end of your flight, enjoy a bush-breakfast under the shade of

    an Acacia Tree...a true 'Out of Africa' experience


    Enjoy a full day safari with a picnic lunch in the Serengeti exploring the local ecosystem.

    Day 5: Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

    After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro and descend into the Crater floor for game viewing with picnic lunch.

    The crater is 2000ft. deep, and considered to be the 8th wonder of the world. Here you can see a

    spectacular concentration of wildlife, including the big five. Drive across the dense forest and near the soda

    lake and enjoy viewing a variety of bird life.

    Optional (at an extra cost):- Maasai Boma visit:

    Enroute, visit a local Maasai Boma (village) for a cultural experience.

    Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater - Depart Arusha

    Depart for Arusha with an optional stop over at the Cultural Heritage center for some souvenir shopping and

    to view the art gallery. On a clear day you will see Mt. Meru standing tall over the city of Arusha.

    Arrive at the Arusha Coffee Lodge where you will enjoy a sumtuous lunch in the lush green gardens. After

    lunch you may have some time to visit Shanga, an uplifting local community social enterprise which employs

    people with disabilities to create unique handmade gifts.

    You will be transferred from Arusha to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward flight.(L)
